Born in Shangzhi City of Heilongjiang Province in 1962 and graduated from Heilongjiang University majored in Chinese Literature. Now lives in Harbin.
Heilongjiang Artist Gallery was set up in 1993.
Personal studio was named Yicai (Splendorous) Hall in 1994.
Zhang Xiangde Art Studio was established in 2006.
Zhang Xiangde Art Gallery was established in 2008.

Personal watercolors and calligraphy exhibition was held at Art Gallery of Heilongjiang Province in September 2005.
Won a gold medal at Beijing International Art Fair in October 2005 and reputed as 搕he most promising young artist for collection?
Personal Watercolor Exhibition was held at Rongbaozhai in Beijing in December 2005, which was the first personal watercolor exhibition held at Rongbaozhai during the last three hundred years.
Invited to participate in 揊our Chinese Contemporary Famous Painters, Namely Guan Weixing, Zhang Kerang, Zhang Xiangde and Zhu Linen, Watercolor Exhibition?at Rongbaozhai in Beijing in May 2006.
The activity of 揃ig Hands Holding Little Hands?in the 揝eminar of Painting & Calligraphy at Cultural Residence?presided by Zhang Xiangde was highly praised by state leaders, including Wu Bangguo and Luo Gan, in September 2006.
Won a gold medal again at Beijing International Art Fair in October 2006 and Zhang Xiangde抯 award-winning works of 揟urn into Soil to Benefit Flowers?was sent to China Art Gallery for exhibition.
Zhang Xiangde was nominated as the 揟op Ten Most Influential Artists?at the Tenth Beijing International Art Fair in July 2007 and was the only winner of the top prize successively three times at Beijing International Art Fair.
The work 揊eixue Changwan?was selected for the 8th National Watercolor & Pastel Exhibition in October 2007.
Invited to participate in 揟hree Chinese Contemporary Famous Painters, Namely Guan Weixing, Zhang Kerang and Zhang Xiangde, Watercolor Exhibition?at Duoyunxuan in Shanghai in December 2007.
Personal Watercolor Exhibition was held at Art Gallery of Heilongjiang Daily in March 2008.
Zhang Xiangde抯 watercolor 揊ancy Jungle in Hometown?was auctioned as #50 at Hanhai Auction Company in Beijing in April 2008 and traded at RMB123,200.00 yuan.
A large painting collection, 揚eople Painting for Olympic? initiated by Zhang Xiangde and alike was sent to Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee in May 2008, and was interviewed by CCTV for its Olympic special program, 揚assion Square?
Invited to participate in 揟hree Chinese Contemporary Famous Painters, Namely Guan Weixing, Zhang Kerang and Zhang Xiangde, Watercolor Exhibition?at the Art Gallery of Heilongjiang Province in June 2009.
Invited by the Singapore Ministry of Culture to hold Zhang Xiangde Personal Watercolor Exhibition in July 2009, and Zhang Xiangde抯 three new books, i.e. personal biography, A Kind of Love Makes You Fly, analects, Watercolor抯 Backbone, and painting album, Zhang Xiangde抯 Watercolor, were housed by the Singapore National Library.
Modern Watercolor Art Academy of Heilongjiang Province, led by its president Zhang Xiangde, was invited to participate in the 12th Beijing International Art Fair in August 2009, and was reputed as the 揗ost Influential Art Academy? being the only art group obtained this honor in this art fair.
The work 揝unny Day?was selected for the 11th National Art Exhibition in September 2009, and won the silver medal at 搕he 60th Anniversary of the Founding of New China ?Grand Art, Calligraphy & Photography Exhibition for Heilongjiang Major Achievements?
Zhang Xiangde had eight personal watercolor album published in 2009.
A delegation of 19 members headed by Zhang Xiangde participated in the Painting & Calligraphy Exhibition in Taiwan in April 2010.
The work, 揥hen Snow Melting 2? was awarded the Excellence at 揘ew Generation Art Exhibition of Four Cities in Northeast of China?in September 2010.
The work, 揂ffection under the Gourd Rack? was selected for the 9th National Watercolor ?Pastel Exhibition in October 2010.
